NAIROBI, July 8 (Xinhua) -- Confederation of African Football (CAF) has now banned disgraced Kenyan referee Aden Marwa from all football activities for life.

The Kenyan referee, who was kicked out of Russia World Cup in June after he was caught on camera taking a bribe while on CAF assignment in Ghana, will not be allowed to take part in any football related activities for the rest of his life.

"The disciplinary board of CAF held a meeting in order to decide over the cases of the referees named in media and Aden Marwa, assistant referee from Kenya will get a life ban from all CAF related football activities," said CAF in a statement on Saturday evening.

Marwa was among match officials named in a documentary aired on BBC Africa last month where it was claimed he received 600 U.S. dollars from Ghanaian investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

Marwa has since returned home and has opted to take a low profile after his infamous news broke out.

Other referees cited by the investigations received bans of between two and six years from the continental governing football body.

Three other Ghanaian referees Lathbridge Reginald, Bello Aboudou and Nantierre Eric were all given provisional suspension pending their hearing and appearance at CAF Disciplinary Board on Aug. 5.

Marwa has not indicated if he will appeal his case before the Court of Sports Arbitration despite receiving support from the Kenya Football Referees Association (KEFORA).
