HO CHI MINH CITY, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- The 2018 International Power Generation, Transmission, Distribution and Renewable Energy Exhibition will take place here from Sept. 12-14, with the participation of over 180 firms from about 20 countries and regions, its organizers said Wednesday.

The firms from such countries as China, Germany, India, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand and Turkey will introduce many electricity-related equipment and technologies, and energy saving solutions at the three-day expo which will also include several conferences and seminars, including two on renewable energy development in Vietnam.

According to Vietnam's renewable energy development strategy approved by the government in 2015, the rate of electricity generated from renewable energy sources will increase to 32 percent by 2030 and to 43 percent by 2050.
