LUSAKA, April 16 (Xinhua) -- The Zambian government on Tuesday said it anticipates enhanced cooperation with both bilateral and multilateral partners following a recent International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank meeting.

Minister of Finance Margaret Mwanakatwe, who described the just-ended Spring Meetings of the IMF and the World Bank as a success, said the government held a number of meetings at both bilateral and multilateral levels, which will strengthen the country's cooperation with both bilateral and multilateral partners.

She said multi-sectoral investor forums held on the sidelines of the Spring Meetings gave her delegation hope of tangible investments in energy development, technological and industrial development, agriculture, education and social investment, according to a statement released by her office.

She said as result of her investor engagement programs, a consortium of American investors have submitted a proposal for the creation of a Southern African Regional Hub for Technology to be located in Lusaka, the country's capital.

According to her, the technology park, a mixed-use work-live facility, will consist of a large-scale data center, a business incubation hub for small and medium enterprises, two international standard hotels, a regional conference center for technology, residential housing and office blocks.

"The Zambian government will do its best to ensure that all requirements are put in place so that the proposal becomes a reality and construction commences as soon as possible," she said.
