XI'AN, June 13 (Xinhua) -- Northwest China's Shaanxi Province will adopt more new technology on the exhibition and protection of the revolutionary cultural relics in the province, the provincial cultural heritage bureau said Thursday.

So far, Shaanxi is home to 51 revolutionary memorial halls including former revolutionary sites, martyrs' memorial halls and museums exhibiting revolutionary cultural relics.

In May, Shaanxi launched an online platform to showcase revolutionary relics with the help of new technology, such as 5G and VR, according to Zhou Kuiying, deputy director of the provincial cultural heritage bureau.

The province will adopt more new technology on the protection and exhibition of the revolutionary relics to promote the spirit of the Chinese revolution, Zhou said.

Shaanxi Province boasts abundant revolutionary resources. The city of Yan'an is the most renowned revolutionary base among them. Yan'an hosted the then headquarters of the Communist Party of China and the center of the Communist revolution from 1935 to 1948. The city is now home to more than 350 sites related to the Chinese revolution.
