RIO DE JANEIRO, June 25 (Xinhua) -- Chile manager Reinaldo Rueda has rejected claims that his knowledge of Colombian football could favor his team in their Copa America quarterfinal against Los Cafeteros.

The 62-year-old Colombian was head coach of his country's national side from 2004 to 2006 and his distinguished career has included successful spells in charge of Colombia-based clubs Atletico Nacional, Medellin and Deportivo Cali.

But he said that experience would count for little when Chile meet Colombia at Sao Paulo's Arena Corinthians on Friday.

"There are no mysteries or secrets," Rueda said after Chile's 1-0 defeat to Uruguay in Rio de Janeiro on Tuesday. "There's so much information available now - on the internet and television programs, for example. Both teams know each other well and that gives us no advantage."

Rueda lamented his team's inability to break down Uruguay's defense at the Maracana, despite having 58 percent of possession and having four more scoring shots.

He said he had no regrets about resting Arturo Vidal, Jean Beausejour and Mauricio Isla.

"We would have exposed them too much ahead of such an important game in the next stage," he said.

"It was an even game. We knew their quality and their style of aerial play. We showed character and good organization with our ability to change the system."
