Russia launched a Progress MS-12 cargo spacecraft towards the International Space Station (ISS) delivering dry cargoes, fuel, water, compressed air, equipment, medicines, food, clothes and personal care products.

MOSCOW, July 31 (Xinhua) -- Russia on Wednesday successfully launched a Soyuz-2.1 carrier rocket with a Progress MS-12 cargo spacecraft towards the International Space Station (ISS), Russia's state space corporation Roscosmos said.

The carrier rocket took off at 3:10 p.m. Moscow Time (1210 GMT) from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, it said in a statement.

The Progress MS-12 will deliver to the ISS 1.2 tons of dry cargoes, more than a ton of fuel, 420 kg of water and 50 kg of compressed air, as well as equipment, medicines, food, clothes and personal care products, the statement said.

The docking of the cargo spacecraft with the ISS is expected at 6:36 p.m. Moscow time (1535 GMT), according to the statement.
