HANGZHOU, May 6 (Xinhua) -- A total of 10 tombs dating back to the Han Dynasty (206 B.C.-220 A.D.) have recently been unearthed in eastern China's Zhejiang Province, according to the provincial cultural relics and archaeology institute.

The tombs are located in Changxing County, and archaeologists found three coffins inside the biggest tomb among the group, measuring 4.7 meters in length, 4.8 meters in width and 2.9 meters in depth.

Xu Jun, a researcher with the institute, said that although tombs during the Han Dynasty had been discovered around the region, it was very rare to see such a well-preserved wooden coffin as the climate in northern Zhejiang is relatively humid and the soil is acidic. Enditem
